These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Sentry Studio project's free apps and services, including the website (sentry-six.com), the desktop application, the Sentry USB device, the Dash USB device, the Sentry Connect iOS app, Sentry Drive, the clip sharing service (clip.sentry-six.com), the notification service (notifications.sentry-six.com), and the support API (api.sentry-six.com), collectively referred to as the "Service."
Sentry Cloud (our paid cloud sync service at sentryusb.com) is operated separately and is not covered by these Terms. It is governed by its own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy at sentryusb.com/legal.
Sentry Studio is a free, open-source project maintained by Jhoan Romero and Scott Vandereems. By accessing or using any part of the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you will be unable to proceed with utilizing the Service.
You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

The Service is provided free of charge. We make no guarantees about uptime, availability, or continued development.
We reserve the right to restrict, suspend, or deny your access to any part of the Service, at any time, for any reason, with or without notice or explanation. This includes but is not limited to:
Access to the Service, including automated updates and support, requires the transmission of basic technical data (as defined in the Privacy Policy) to prevent unauthorized API use and ensure version stability.
If you believe your access was restricted in error, you may appeal through our Discord server.

Shared clips are publicly accessible to anyone with the link. There is no password protection or access control. You are solely responsible for the content you upload and share. Do not upload clips containing sensitive, private, or personally identifiable information unless you are comfortable with it being publicly viewable.
You retain full ownership of any content you upload. By uploading a clip, you grant us a limited, temporary license to host, store, serve, and generate thumbnails of your content for the sole purpose of providing the clip sharing service. This license terminates when the clip is deleted.
Where offered, the AI Support Assistant is an online, automated service. It is not a human, and the AI model does not run solely on your Sentry USB or other local device. It may produce inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or outdated information, including information that sounds confident. Its responses are general support information and are not professional, legal, financial, or safety advice. Verify important instructions against official documentation or with a qualified human before relying on them, especially where an action could affect safety, data, hardware, accounts, warranties, or purchases.
The Assistant has no authority to approve or promise refunds, credits, replacements, warranty coverage, licenses, account actions, policy exceptions, or any other commitment on behalf of Sentry Studio or any separately operated service. AI output does not modify these Terms or create a binding obligation. Applicable published terms and any rights that cannot be waived by law control.
Using AI Support sends relevant messages and product context to our backend and to Ollama Cloud for AI inference as described in the Privacy Policy. A redacted transcript of each conversation is retained on our server for 90 days after the last activity. Authorized maintainers may review it to provide support, investigate abuse and failures, identify inaccurate or hallucinated answers, and improve the assistant's prompts, product knowledge, routing, safeguards, and support quality.
Deleting a conversation removes its messages and uploaded files immediately. A non-content deletion receipt containing the conversation identifier, one-way hashes of the access token and deletion idempotency key, and the deletion time remains available for safe retries and replay prevention until it expires 24 hours after deletion. The expired receipt is removed during the next scheduled cleanup sweep, as detailed in the Privacy Policy.
The Assistant cannot browse your device or access a file automatically. If it requests a diagnostic report or file, nothing is generated, collected, or uploaded unless you affirmatively approve that specific request. In a flow that generates a named diagnostic report, clicking Approve once authorizes the app to generate and immediately upload that report; it does not grant arbitrary or ongoing file access. Approved reports or files are uploaded to our backend, may be processed by Ollama Cloud and reviewed by authorized maintainers, and are retained on our server for 7 days. Declining a request does not prevent you from continuing the conversation.
You retain ownership of content you submit. You represent that you have the right to share it and grant us a limited license to host, transmit, process, reproduce, redact, and review it solely to operate, secure, evaluate, and improve AI Support as described in the Privacy Policy. Do not upload credentials, private keys, access tokens, sensitive location data, or third-party information you are not authorized to share.
The Assistant may suggest joining our Discord server for further community or human help. Joining is optional, and opening the Discord link does not automatically transfer your AI conversation or files. Discord is a separate third-party service governed by its own terms and privacy practices. Do not post sensitive information in public or community channels.
Sentry Studio is an independent, community-driven project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Tesla, Inc. in any way. "Tesla", "TeslaCam", and "Sentry Mode" are trademarks of Tesla, Inc.
Dash USB is likewise an independent project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to General Motors in any way. "GM", "General Motors", and "Surround Vision" are trademarks of General Motors. Use of these names is solely to describe the vehicles the software is compatible with.
The Service may link to third-party websites and services (GitHub, Discord, etc.). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party sites.
Where offered, AI Support uses Ollama Cloud as a third-party AI inference provider. Relevant conversation and approved file content may be processed by Ollama under its own terms and privacy policy, as described in our Privacy Policy. Legacy human support messages and attachments are forwarded to a private Discord thread so the developer can respond; those Discord copies do not share the support server's automatic seven-day deletion schedule. By contrast, opening the optional Discord link suggested by AI Support does not automatically transfer your AI conversation or files.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Since the Service is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim shall not exceed $0 USD.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Sentry Studio project and its maintainer from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, without prior notice. You may stop using the Service at any time by simply ceasing to use it and uninstalling the application.
Upon termination, any shared clips you have uploaded may be deleted. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and Indemnification) will remain in effect.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. (Sentry Cloud is operated by a separate entity under its own Terms and governing law — see sentryusb.com/legal.)
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
